FEATURED PROJECT: THE TIPPLE HOUSE
We will be setting up a live webcam in the near future. It will be directed at the Tipple House so that visitors can see our progress day by day. In the meantime, you will find a gallery of photos below that show our progress.
History of the project:
The Tipple House is being built using antique wood from the miner's bunk house at the Gold Links Gold Mine in Ohio City, Colorado. Great care was taken to map and label each piece of wood so parts could be matched as it is rebuilt. The beautiful weathered wood from the outside of the bunkhouse will cover the walls of the interior of the Tipple House while the wood from the interior of bunkhouse will go on the outside of the new structure.
We noted the look of stone walls at the Gold Links Mine location so that we could duplicate it for stonework on the Tipple House. In order to ensure the proper reconstruction, we've created a number of mock-ups.
